“Green Design” was a priority for the consortium of clients who commissioned this project and thus sustainability issues were considered as all design decisions were made.
The landscape features green belts and canals, footpaths and recreation ways, gardens and community parks. This green network is limited to pedestrian use. The naturally calming and climatizing effects of the water were used to full advantage. ll buildings arrange to face south, maximize views and encircling a central, sunken plaza. Reclaimed and recycled building materials were specified when available, and lifecycle costed systems and energy efficient components were utilized. The development features concealed, underground parking lots and a low-E mass transit system. |
